I am back in the Boro after a week and a half split between St. Augustine, Fl. and Atlanta.  The beach was amazing, and getting to spend time with my family was really fun too.  We had a beach front condo, so we were at the beach all the time, although I had to spend some of the time updating the AO website.  It is still one of the lamest sites I have ever seen, because Lifeway's templates are so limiting and they suck, but in July, Matt Mosley (the bass player of the band Aireline) is going to design a new website that is going to look amazing.  He works for a design company and he said that if we went through the company it would be over $3,000 just to get the site up...no up-keep or anything like that.  Anyways, My family played mini-golf and went to see Star Wars and ate a lot of fried shrimp...all very good.  I left St. Augustine on Thursday because I was going to go to Josh and Jessica's wedding on Saturday.  I actually left my house on Saturday to head up here when I realized that I only had $15 to my name...not nearly enough to last through the weekend with the drive and everything, so I decided to stay at home and eat for free, and my parents ended up paying for my gas, so that was nice of them as well.  I am now back and am going to be working all week before heading back to Atlanta to hang out with some friends, see charlie hall and go to a braves game.  I had some pretty heavy thoughts, but its really early, I will write again soon.

Did you miss me?  I know you did.  Ha.  We went to Nashville last night for inpop and Rocketown's GMA showcase, and it was a lot of fun.  Mat Kearny, Ginny Owens, Shawn Groves, Tree63, and Taylor Sorenson all played...oh and did I mention Superchik...nope, and we'll just keep it that way.

We only have 2 weeks of school left.  Isn't that crazy?  It seems like none of my classes are near finished with what we need to learn.  We have spent about a month or more on material for each of our copyright law tests, and we have our third test, which we just started the material for, two weeks from yesterday.  Everything is moving really fast.

I am still trying to figure out where I am going to be this summer.  I will either be working all summer up here in the 'boro, which will pay well, or interning at my church, which would be a good learning experience.

God is doing some really cool things right now, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.  Love you guys.  Keep it real.

Burning in the Sun

So, this is my first journal entry in almost two months.  I would like to say that there has been nothing of substance to write and that is why I have neglected my writing here, but that's not really true.

The fact is that I have been extremely busy with a lot of good things that I really enjoy doing (and a lot of school work that I enjoy a little bit less).

At the beginning of the semester I took over as sunday morning lead worshipper and it has been going really well.  We have two guitars, bass and drums, but lately my heart has been going towards a more intimate musical sound to hopefully cultivate a more intimate worship environment, so this sunday, we are playing guitar, bass, and piano.  It sounds awesome and should be a lot of fun.

I also stepped down from the wednesday night band to focus on sundays and to be able to expand the area of ministry that has become more of my passion as of late.  I have been doing a lot of the design and environment of the room for the past 6 or 7 months, but have been able to step up my role to include the programming of the services, the creative worship aspects and most importantly, a lot of forward thinking as far as wednesday nights go.  Instead of planning week to week, I am planning up to 5 weeks ahead with videos and enviroment aspects, backgrounds we should use and the like.  It is a blast so far.

I was talking with Anthony the other day about all this and he asked me why my passions have changed so much, and I don't think they have at all.  My passion is still very much worship, but just a different aspect of it.  My heart is more for equipping people to lead and me facilitating the big picture.  I am starting to get into video editing and stuff and a bunch of other production aspects, but even that is not my passion.  My passion is enabling others to do what they do best and to create a worship environment that is non-distracting and a service that flows from beginning to end, but in order to enable people, I need to know how to do some of what they are doing, so I can tell them what is needed more clearly.  I want to be a worship arts minister somewhere down the road and I am excited that I am stepping up into this role now.

I also applied and am waiting on a response concerning an internship at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta.  For those of you who don't know, North Point is on the cutting edge as far a service programming and the use of technology in their services.  I applied to either work as the video intern or as the music intern.  Both would be outstanding, so just please be praying for that.

Yeah, so I went to bed at 6 o' clock last night...not like in the morning, but like supper time.  I woke up at 9:45...thats almost 16 hours...wow...thats insane.  I needed it though.

Peace out guys.
